Job summary

State of South Carolina is seeking a career counselor to provide job development, placement assistance, and supported employment services for Project Search participants. The role supports transition consumers and coordinates with SCVRD programs.

The position offers an hourly rate of $22.85 for a 35-hour workweek, with travel throughout the day to assist consumers and a flex schedule to meet client needs. A related bachelor’s degree is required, or a high school diploma with relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Must be able to communicate effectively.
• Must be able to travel throughout the day to assist consumers while at work.
• Must be able to work in various environments and on a flex schedule to meet consumers' needs.
• Knowledge and skill in conducting needs assessments.
• Knowledge of fact gathering methods and interviewing techniques.
• Knowledge of community resources.
• Knowledge of principles of behavior adjustment techniques.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals, families, etc.
