Job summary

Edgecombe County Public Schools in Tarboro, NC seeks a Title I Grades 3–5 Literacy Coach to provide instructional leadership, coaching, and professional development to strengthen literacy instruction and student achievement across the district.

The role collaborates with school leaders and teachers to align NC ELA standards, implement evidence-based practices, and analyze assessment data to drive targeted interventions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Hold or be eligible to hold a North Carolina Professional Educator's License in Elementary Education or related area.
• Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience, preferably including grades 3–5.
• Knowledge of NC Standard Course of Study for English Language Arts and evidence-based literacy instruction.
• Experience analyzing student assessment data to guide instructional planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing instructional coaching to teachers in grades 3–5 through classroom observations and modeling.
• Facilitate professional development focused on evidence-based literacy instruction and assessment practices.
• Support teachers in planning standards-aligned literacy lessons and interventions.
• Analyze EOG and literacy data to guide instructional decisions and targeted support.
• Collaborate with school/district leaders to drive Title I literacy initiatives and district priorities.
