Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Kentwood, MI is seeking a part-time Retail Associate to provide friendly customer service, process donations, and operate the sales floor. You will handle POS transactions, assist donors, and help maintain a welcoming shopping experience for customers and donors.

Responsibilities include stocking, tagging, pricing, merchandising, and supporting store operations with a positive, mission-driven approach. Training is provided, and a flexible schedule is required.

Qualifications

• Provide friendly customer service on the sales floor and donation area.
• Process donations and receipts according to store policy.
• Operate POS system and handle cash accurately.
• Follow store procedures, safety rules, and dress code.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service on the sales floor and donation area.
• Operate POS system, complete sales, manage cash drawer.
• Open/close store procedures as assigned.
• Assist donors with donations and provide receipts.
• Sort, tag, price, and display donated merchandise.
• Identify items for eCommerce as assigned.
• Maintain clean, organized sales and donation areas.
• Support receiving, loading, and movement of donations.
• Complete bank runs and other duties per policy.
• Follow policies on merchandise handling, pricing, and safety.
• Be flexible with shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Other duties as assigned.
