Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Washington Township, Michigan seeks a friendly Retail Sales Associate to provide great customer service, keep the store organized, and help create a welcoming shopping experience for customers and donors.

This part-time role includes greeting customers, operating the register, balancing the till, restocking merchandise, and collaborating with the team to meet daily sales and production goals. Training is provided, with evenings and weekends required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or currently pursuing.
• Ability to provide friendly customer service.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift.
• Ability to bend, reach, and lift or move merchandise throughout the day.
• Preferred: Previous retail, cashier, customer service, or thrift store experience.
• Preferred: Experience using a point of sale system.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful service
• Operate the register and process sales transactions accurately
• Help open, close, and balance the register as assigned
• Restock merchandise and keep displays neat and easy to shop
• Help sort, prepare, and move merchandise to the sales floor
• Keep the store clean, safe, and organized
