Job summary

Wayland-Cohocton Central School District is seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support teachers and foster a safe, inclusive classroom across the High School, Elementary School, and Prekindergarten settings. Start date ASAP and opportunities to grow within a mission-driven district.

You will work with individual students and small groups, assist with lesson prep, manage routines, and monitor progress with the teaching team. A NYS TA certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Clear communication and interpersonal skills essential for supporting diverse learners.
• Patience, adaptability and a positive attitude in a classroom setting.
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff and administration to support student success.
• Willingness to pursue NYS Teaching Assistant certification if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom instruction by working with individual students and small groups.
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation, classroom organization, and learning activities.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom atmosphere.
• Help manage classroom routines and transitions.
• Observe student progress and share insights with the teaching team.
• Provide academic and behavioral support tailored to student needs.
