Wayland Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Teaching Assistant to join our team at Happy Hollow Elementary in Wayland, MA. The role supports academic, social, and emotional growth of students in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience working with school‑aged children is highly preferred.
• Experience with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support to students in classroom and small-group settings
• Assist classroom teachers in implementing instructional activities and lessons
• Support students in completing assignments and classroom projects
• Help prepare, organize, and maintain instructional materials and classroom resources
• Facilitate student participation in classroom activities and routines
• Reinforce classroom expectations and positive behavior strategies
• Assist with classroom management and supervision as directed by the classroom teacher
• Supervise students and program activities as directed by the immediate supervisor
• Support students' social-emotional development and foster positive peer interactions
• Work collaboratively with teachers, specialists, and school staff to support student success
• Communicate with families regarding classroom activities when appropriate and directed by the classroom teacher or administrator
• Participate in training and professional development as required
• Work collaboratively with district and school staff to promote equitable access and address systemic barriers
• Perform other related duties as assigned
