Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is seeking a Swim Lesson Instructor to provide professional instruction, maintain a safe pool environment, and enforce policies with courtesy. Under the Aquatics Director, you will deliver lessons, keep rosters, and track progress for members of all ages.

This role requires current CPR/First Aid and YMCA ARC Water Safety Instructor certifications, plus the ability to respond calmly in emergencies and help create a nurturing aquatic environment for all

Qualifications

• Experience instructing swim lessons or coaching aquatic programs.
• Must have current Lifeguard and First Aid certifications.
• Must hold YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor Certification or ARC WSI.

Responsibilities

• Instruct swim lessons using YMCA program and manage class rosters.
• Ensure safety of all participants at all times.
• Prepare lesson plans before sessions.
• Track progress with skill assessments and issue reports.
• Engage with members and promote YMCA programs.
