Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is seeking a part-time Swim Lesson Instructor at the Montebello Family YMCA. You will teach swim lessons, enforce pool safety, and maintain a nurturing aquatic environment for members and participants.

You will follow the YMCA swim lesson program, keep class rosters, monitor progress, and communicate with parents and the Aquatics Director. certifications and experience in swimming are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Age: Minimum age 16.
• Mandatory certifications including YMCA/ARC/BLS.
• Experience instructing swim lessons or coaching aquatic programs.
• Six core swimming strokes and safety/technique knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Instruct swim lessons using YMCA program.
• Ensure safety of all class participants at all times.
• Prepare lesson/session plans before each session.
• Maintain class rosters and track attendance.
• Communicate progress to parents or Aquatics Director.
• Respond to emergencies using proper procedures.
• Uphold safety policies and Six Pillars of Character.
