Job summary

Alteva RCM is seeking a Professional Coder to review clinical documentation and assign diagnosis and CPT codes for professional services across multiple specialties. This role ensures coding accuracy in line with guidelines and payer policies to support timely reimbursement and minimize denials.

Ideal candidates have AHIMA or AAPC credentials, 3+ years of physician coding experience, and strong communication skills. This is a full-time role with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• AHIMA/AAPC credential and active status required.
• Minimum 3 years of physician/professional services coding experience.
• Solid knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, modifiers and Medicare/Medicaid rules.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and accurately assign diagnosis and procedure codes for professional services.
• Code assigned tickets accurately and in a timely manner to support clean claim submission.
• Independently research and resolve coding scenarios, including payer-specific edits and documentation questions.
• Meet daily productivity targets and maintain consistent coding quality.
• Communicate coding and documentation issues to the Lead Medical Coder/Manager.
• Escalate complex scenarios or unclear documentation through established workflows.
