Job summary

Summit Public Schools in Seattle and West Seattle seeks Substitute Teachers for the 2026–2027 school year. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Master’s Degree in Education preferred but not required.
• Washington Teacher Substitute Permit required or Summit will assist in obtaining it.

Responsibilities

• Provide an overall student experience of high quality.
• Act as teacher of record for multiple courses.
• Facilitate learning experiences with direct instruction, project-based learning, and group tasks.
• Tutor individual students when needed.
• Design social and emotional learning experiences within courses.
• Provide updates on student achievement to faculty and families as needed.
• Maintain Summit’s discipline process.
• Support weekly team planning and coverage decisions.
