Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to instruct and manage student behavior.
• Preferred: Valid Texas Teacher Certification.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
• Experience in teaching, substitute teaching or college coursework in the education field.

Responsibilities

• Ensures adequate supervision to assure the health, welfare, and safety of all students.
• Creates classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
• Maintains established routine of school and classroom procedures in which assigned.
• Facilitates classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans.
• Maintains and respects the confidentiality of student and personnel information.
• Ensures accurate recording and timely submittal of student attendance.
• Manages student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and Parent-Student Handbook.
• Communicates occurrences relating to student discipline, conduct, attendance and instruction to teacher and campus administration, as necessary.
• Assists in the supervision of students before and after school, as scheduled.
• Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Participates in staff development training programs, meetings, and special events as assigned.

Education

Valid Texas Teacher Certification
