Responsibilities
  • Operate school buses and other transportation vehicles safely and efficiently in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Transport students and passengers to and from designated locations, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with operational standards.
  • Maintain a clean and well‑organized bus interior and exterior.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding transportation schedules and any changes.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while transporting passengers.
  • Manage student behavior on the bus, ensuring a respectful and safe environment for all.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or mechanical issues to the appropriate authorities in a timely manner.
  • Be available to fill in for regular drivers on short notice, including mornings, afternoons, and occasional special events.
Requirements
  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) Class B with appropriate endorsements: Passenger and School Bus. The District will give necessary training to obtain CDL Class B, Passenger and School Bus endorsements.
  • Clean driving record with no major violations or suspensions.
  • Previous experience driving large vehicles or buses preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
