Job summary

MedMark Treatment Centers, a BayMark Health Services company, is seeking a compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor for our outpatient clinic in Fayette County, Uniontown area. You will assist patients through medically assisted programs, conduct individual and group sessions, and coordinate with the treatment team to support recovery from opioid use disorder.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in fields like chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing with clinical specialization; plan if not in setting.
• Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of clinical experience (1,820 hours); plan if experience is elsewhere.
• Associate degree and 2 years of clinical experience (3,640 hours); full certification as an addictions counselor.
• Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, accepting attitude toward patients.
• Understanding of an EMR system (electronic medical records).
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Counselor will conduct individual and group counseling sessions.
• Coordinate care of assigned patients and present patient status and concerns with treatment team accordingly.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and the development and implementation of patient treatment plans according to State regulatory requirements
• Provide clinical services and patient care and education and opiate addiction counseling services to patients
• Excellent documentation and computer skills required
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor
