Job summary

Alpharus Health in Chicago, IL is seeking a Certified Substance Use Counselor (CADC, LPC, or LSW) to join our team on a full-time, Monday–Friday schedule. The role emphasizes assessments, individualized treatment planning, and direct counseling within residential and community settings.

We value a strong clinical background, licensure in the state, and at least two years of relevant experience, plus ability to document progress, manage cases, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and life experience with at least 100 hours of documented clinical training in counseling theory and practice
• Current CADC or higher licensure (LPC, LSW) in state of hire
• Minimum 2 years of previous experience in substance abuse or mental health counseling
• Related work experience with adolescent/adult populations and residential treatment setting

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive assessments and prepare individualized treatment plans
• Provide individual and group counseling and educational programs
• Document treatment and discharge plans and clients’ progress
• Perform case management and contribute to client care monitoring
• Caseload may include complex cases requiring more intensive services
• Other duties as assigned
