Job summary

Alpharus Health in Springfield, IL seeks a Residential Substance Use Counselor to assess, plan, and provide counseling for adults in a residential setting. You will document progress, coordinate care, and support recovery with individualized treatment plans.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field with clinical training, CADC or LPC/LSW licensure, and at least 2 years of relevant experience in substance use or mental health care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 100 hours of documented clinical training.
• CADC or higher licensure (LPC or LSW) in the state of hire.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in substance use or mental health counseling.
• Experience in residential treatment settings.
• Must be at least 21 years old to operate a gateway vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive assessments of clients’ history and needs.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and provide counseling.
• Document treatment progress and discharge plans, maintain records.
• Perform case management and contribute to client care.
• Manage a caseload with complex cases requiring intensive services.
