Job summary

MedMark Treatment Centers in Columbus, GA seeks a compassionate Full Time Substance Use Counselor to support patients through medications-assisted treatments and counseling techniques. You will conduct individual and group sessions, help crisis management, and collaborate with doctors, nurses and fellow counselors to improve patient outcomes.

The role requires a CAC/CADC I or higher, and experience with chemically dependent individuals.

Qualifications

• Current addiction/substance abuse certification (CAC/CADC I or higher) is required.
• Experience working with chemically dependent individuals.
• Must be positive, non-judgmental, and accepting toward patients.
• Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling services.
• Direct service hours at scheduled intervals; coordinate services.
• Completes bio-psychosocial assessment.
• Conducts initial assessment and eligibility interviews.
• Develop aftercare and discharge plans.
• Facilitates and reviews initial treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate clinical records per regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Compassionate Full Time Substance Use Counselor Needed!

Position Overview

Substance use counselor will be in charge with assisting patients through medically assisting treatments and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. Counselor conducts individual sessions and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. Counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during counseling and collaborate with doctors, nurses and other counselors to assist the patients’ achieving overall outcome.

Responsibilities

• Familiarity with 12 Core Functions of Counseling
• Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment
• Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment
• Conducts individual initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination
• Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans
• Facilitates, establishes and reviews with each patient the initial treatment plan
• Ensures accurate and current clinical records are maintained in accordance with Federal and State Regulations governing NTP clinics
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor

Qualifications

• Current addiction/substance abuse certification, CAC, CADC I certification or above is required.
• Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals.
• Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population
• Satisfactory criminal background check & drug screen
