Job summary

University Health in Kansas City, MO, seeks a part-time Speech Pathologist for the Lakewood Medical Center. You will evaluate patients across the lifespan, develop customized therapy plans, and work with a multidisciplinary rehab team to improve communication and swallowing.

Responsibilities include documenting progress, educating families, supervising students as needed, and contributing to department initiatives while maintaining safety and quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.
• Missouri Speech Pathologist License or eligibility.
• CCC/CFY eligibility or CCC from ASHA (as applicable).
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and build customized therapy plans.
• Help patients improve communication, thinking, and swallowing skills.
• Adjust treatments based on progress and goals.
• Educate patients and families for home success.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and rehab team.
• Document clearly and thoroughly.
• Supervise students and rehab techs as needed.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
