Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City area is seeking a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist for the Olathe Hospital PRN days. The role evaluates, plans, and implements treatment programs for patients from newborn to geriatric with cognitive, communication, or swallowing impairments.

The SLP collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, documents evaluations and treatment, supervises aides, and may participate in performance improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure as SLP in KS or MO.
• CPR/ AED/ BLS - within 14 days.

Responsibilities

• Conducts Speech-Language Pathology evaluations and plans treatments.
• Evaluates patients to determine impairments in speech, language, voice, cognition, and dysphagia.
• Educates patients and families on results and home management.
• Develops and adjusts treatment programs based on assessments.
• Documents evaluations, treatment sessions, progress, and discharge plans.
• Supervises Rehabilitation Aides and Student SLPs and participates in inservice training.
