Job summary

The Rehabilitation Center of Oakland is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide direct patient care and support the rehabilitation team in Oakland, CA. You will evaluate and treat speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders while documenting progress in medical records.

Responsibilities include supervising Clinical Fellows and other SLPs, coordinating with physicians and families, and contributing to interdisciplinary care conferences.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• CCC-SLP certification and California license or license eligible.
• 2–3 years experience in a skilled nursing facility rehab environment preferred.
• Knowledge of evaluation and treatment of medically based speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatment programs to maximize speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities.
• Document services in medical records; communicate with families, physicians and other team members.
• Supervise Clinical Fellow and other SLPs in direct patient care and related activities.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and contribute to rehab team conferences and care plans.
• Maintain safe working practices and professional standards.
• Educate families and staff on treatment plans and outcomes.
