Job summary

The ideal candidate holds a valid Illinois ISBE teaching license with LBS1 endorsement and has experience collaborating with case managers and general education teachers to support students with diverse needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
• Valid Illinois ISBE teaching license with LBS1 endorsement.
• Completion of CPS online application and teaching profile at cps.edu/teach.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a deep understanding of content, pedagogy, and student knowledge to design learning objectives and assessments.
• Create an environment for effective student learning with a respectful classroom culture and diverse student needs.
• Respond to the needs of all students with engaging instruction and aligned assessments.
• Exhibit excellent oral and written communication and professional judgment in interactions with staff, families and students.
• Prioritize student safety through consistent application of the Student Code of Conduct.
• Personalize student learning using curriculum resources and technology as available.
• Advocate for equity, high expectations, and developmental appropriateness in instruction.
