Chicago Public Schools in Chicago, IL is seeking qualified teachers with an Illinois teaching license (LBS1 endorsement preferred) to provide high-quality instruction to diverse student populations and to contribute to a positive school culture.

Under the supervision of the principal, teachers will plan, instruct, assess, and support students in alignment with CPS frameworks, while collaborating with case managers and other education staff to promote student success.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
• Completion of the CPS online application and teaching profile at cps.edu/teach
• A valid teaching license issued by the Illinois State Board of Education, with the appropriate endorsement(s) for the role.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate mastery of content, pedagogy, and student knowledge to design learning objectives and assessments.
• Create a respectful classroom culture with strong management of student behaviors and classroom procedures that values diversity.
• Design engaging instruction with appropriately challenging questions and aligned assessments.
• Exhibit effective communication with administration, colleagues, families and students.
• Prioritize student safety through consistent application of the Student Code of Conduct and school-wide discipline systems.
• Personalize student learning through curriculum resources and technology as available.
• Advocate for equity, high expectations, and developmentally appropriate practices.
