Qualifications

• Special Education Teacher Certification by the Texas State Board of Educator Certification (SBEC) for grades EC-12 required
• At least two years of school district teaching experience required.
• At least one year of special education teaching experience required.
• Ability to read, write and understand English required
• Required to pass a pre-employment fingerprinting as part of the background check
• Required to submit original college transcripts, service records and credentials within first 30 days of employment

Responsibilities

• The Special Education Teacher coordinates and delivers educational services to students with disabilities as defined by the ADA and amended.
• Plans and delivers appropriate learning experiences for students with disabilities in various educational settings.
• Ensures curriculum has a plan for students with learning, physical and emotional disabilities and supports a flexible program with specialized instruction.
