Job summary

Antioch Community Consolidated School District 34 is seeking a long-term substitute Special Education Resource Teacher to foster academic, social, and emotional growth for students. Plan and differentiate lessons, implement testing accommodations, and collaborate with families, staff, and administrators to ensure student success.

The role requires a Professional Educator License (PEL) and a Learning Behavior Specialist endorsement (LBS1) with experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• PEL licensure.
• LBS1 endorsement preferred.
• Previous teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and implement lessons aligned with State standards and district objectives.
• Differentiate learning activities to meet individual student needs.
• Create a positive classroom environment and manage behavior.
• Collaborate with families, colleagues, and administrators to support student progress.
• Develop and implement IEPs/BIPs in compliance with IDEA and IL regulations.
• Provide testing accommodations and progress monitoring to inform instruction.
• Direct instructional aides in implementing accommodations/modifications.
• Participate in school/district committees and professional development.

Bachelor's Degree
