Job summary

Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) seeks a Special Education Teacher to support K-12 students at the River Street School in Windsor, CT. You will work to identify learning needs, develop and implement IEPs, and collaborate with educators to maximize student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
• State Certification as a Special Education Teacher.
• Applicants with knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and diagnostoc testing to identify learning issues and recommend actions.
• Participate in PPTs and develop Individual Educational Programs (IEPs).
• Assist in implementing IEPs and behavior management plans with students and staff.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to address student needs.
• Coordinate with district reps and outside agencies as needed.
• Provide counseling and liaison between home and school to support student growth.
