Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Special Education teacher to support students with diverse learning needs in Kyle, Texas. You will develop IEPs, tailor instruction, and collaborate with families to ensure student progress across core subjects.

You will join a team committed to inclusive education, ongoing professional growth, and strong community engagement. Eligible candidates should hold Texas Special Education certification and a bachelor’s degree in education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution.
• Experience in a Special Education classroom setting strongly preferred.
• Valid Texas state certification in Special Education required.

Responsibilities

• Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
• Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for a caseload of students.
• Implement IEPs, assess students’ performance, and track progress.
• Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect progress and goals.
• Assess students’ skills to determine needs and develop teaching plans.
• Lead small-group instruction for reading and math in inclusive settings.
• Communicate progress with students’ families and school staff.
• Participate in weekly meetings and after-school activities as required.
• Help prepare students for transitions from grade to grade and post-graduation.
