Job summary

Wake County Public School System seeks a dedicated educator to coordinate and provide direct instructional programs for students with disabilities and their IEPs. The role requires maintaining confidentiality and adhering to FERPA and related regulations throughout the district.

Responsibilities include developing and updating IEPs, implementing specially designed instruction, and collaborating with staff, parents, and community partners to support student learning and safety in the classroom.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Hold or be eligible for North Carolina Professional Educator’s License in an Exceptional Children’s teaching area.
• Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license as per state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develops IEPs for students with disabilities; implements the IEP and uses diagnostic information to update IEPs as needed.
• Implements instructional strategies and progress monitoring tools for specially designed instruction.
• Assists students in completing curriculum tasks and achieving IEP goals.
• Employs varied teaching methods and accommodations to meet student needs; adapts materials accordingly.
• Monitors student behavior, maintains classroom discipline, and teaches behavioral strategies.
• Evaluates student work and coordinates progress/report cards.
