Job summary

Sola Academy in Evanston, IL seeks a Special Education Teacher to deliver student-centered instruction and emotional support within a differentiated framework. The role emphasizes addressing individual academic and emotional needs through targeted strategies and ongoing assessment.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's Degree and current Illinois PEL with LBS1 coverage for grades 6-12, plus a penchant for mentoring students and collaborating with families.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's Degree and Illinois PEL; LBS1 licensure for grades 6-12.
• Ideal candidate has higher-level Math background and is outgoing, organized, and tech-capable.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group teaching in Math, Science, Social Studies, and English.
• Differentiate instruction for all students and support holistic growth.
• Maintain complete and accurate student/teacher records.
• Communicate regularly with parents and collaborate with the campus community.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
• Mentor students in addition to subject tutoring; perform other duties as assigned.
