Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency required; ParaPro Certificate preferred
• Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required
• Associate's Degree in education or ParaPro Certificate or two years of college required
• Two years of experience working with children or young adults in a school setting preferred
• May require fluency in Spanish

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing policies and directives
• Follow teacher instructions to support instructional goals
• Assist students with classwork individually or in small groups
• Maintain attendance records and document student progress
• Prepare and distribute lesson plan materials
• Assist students during recess, field trips, and transportation
• Support students in using computers and media to access curriculum
• Ensure confidentiality of student information
• Support IEP goal implementation and toilet/feeding programs
• Provide escort and mobility assistance and assist with community-based activities
• Assist students in developing independent living skills
• Collect data on student learning activity for progress monitoring
• Provide progress updates to teachers and parents
