Job summary

GLcomets at Grand Ledge High School is seeking a dedicated Special Education ParaEducator to join our team. This full-time position supports students with diverse learning needs and collaborates with SPED teachers to provide inclusive instruction.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (associate degree preferred), strong communication, patience, and the ability to work in a team. You will assist with IEPs, small group and 1:1 tutoring, and help maintain a safe, organized classroom.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in education preferred.
• Experience with students with disabilities or in SPED settings is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist SPED teachers with IEPs and classroom accommodations.
• Support students in academic, social, and behavioral areas.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring and small group instruction.
• Monitor progress and document student outcomes for teachers.
• Assist with transitions and supervision during classes and activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow school policies.
