Job summary

Grand Blanc Community Schools is seeking a dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with diverse learning needs and work closely with the special education team to reinforce learning objectives in a structured, nurturing environment.

The role includes assisting with IEPs and behavior support, providing one-on-one or small-group instruction, communicating with parents and staff, and documenting student progress.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or higher preferred.
• Experience working with children, especially those with special needs, is an advantage.
• Patience, adaptability, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Classroom Instruction: Support IEP implementation and reinforce learning objectives under lead teacher guidance.
• Behavioral Support: Provide proactive behavior management to maintain a safe classroom.
• Personalized Student Assistance: Work one-on-one or in small groups to engage with the curriculum.
• Communication & Collaboration: Maintain open communication with teachers, parents, and staff.
• Adaptation of Materials: Modify activities and materials to meet diverse learners' needs.
• Classroom Management Support: Help maintain structure and monitor student progress.
• Documentation & Reporting: Keep records of student progress and behaviors as directed.
• Physical Assistance: Support students with personal needs under teacher guidance.
• Professional Development: Participate in training sessions and staff meetings.
