Job summary

YAI Network in New York City seeks a Teacher Assistant to support students with disabilities across classrooms and during transitions. You will work with teachers, aides, and therapists to prepare materials, assist with activities, and help implement individualized plans.

Must hold NYSED TA certification or be pursuing it, with the ability to follow behavior plans, assist with ADLs, and travel to internships. Benefits include comprehensive coverage and growth opportunities in a dynamic setting.

Qualifications

• Must hold NYSED TA certification or be pursuing it.
• Passing score on NYSTCE ATAS and completion of required workshops.
• Certification due within 90 days of appointment.
• Experience working with children with disabilities preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to assist with ADLs (e.g., toileting) and lifting as needed.
• Willingness to travel across NYC for internships and employment sites.

Responsibilities

• Support teacher with educational activities and lesson plans.
• Assist with classroom setup, materials, and data collection.
• Ensure health and safety policies are followed in classroom.
• Provide support during transitions and behavior interventions.
• Contribute to meetings and trainings as requested.
• Assist students with personal care and daily living activities.
