Qualifications

• Associate degree or completion of 48 semester hours.
• WorkKeys assessments plus 96 contact hours of staff development.
• Preschool assistants must have an associate's degree in Early Childhood Development.
• Must obtain Crisis Intervention Program certification and renewal.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical and clerical tasks to assist a teacher of students with disabilities.
• Provides one-on-one academic instruction or leads small group activities.
• Assists with housekeeping, clerical duties, and maintenance of equipment.
• Monitors student behavior and safety, supports crisis prevention when needed.
• Maintains records of student progress and prepares incident reports.
• Assists with delivery of special services and daily living skills support.
