Job summary

The Madison Metropolitan School District is seeking a Special Education Assistant for Capital High under the Student Services team. This non-exempt position supports students with disabilities, helps implement IEP goals, and assists with daily living tasks across 4K-12 settings.

Under supervision of licensed staff, you will follow safety protocols and provide instructional support, transitions, and behavior interventions to promote inclusive student learning and growth.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or 48 college credits beyond high school, or pass an onsite assessment.
• Wisconsin DPI Special Education Program Aide License (1015) eligibility requirements.
• Must be able to meet physical requirements and travel as needed; in-person work required.

Responsibilities

• Support instructional activities and daily living tasks for students.
• Assist with behavioral support and safety during school activities.
• Coordinate with teachers and specialists to implement IEP goals.
• Monitor student progress and maintain confidential records.
