Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in editorial work.
• 3-5 years of professional editing experience.
• Full fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
• Strong grammar, style, and editorial workflow knowledge.
• Experience with freelance editors and cross-functional collaboration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Edit and shape Spanish-language manuscripts for publication, meeting standards for clarity and quality.
• Provide constructive feedback to authors during writing and revision.
• Review manuscript submissions and advise on editorial direction.
• Partner with copyeditors, freelancers, and internal teams to move projects from concept to final product.
• Assess outlines and early drafts, shaping them into polished manuscripts.
• Develop and maintain editorial materials like style sheets and back-cover copy.
• Keep projects moving on schedule and flag timelines proactively.
• Participate in editorial meetings and assist with process improvements.
• Provide mentorship to fellow editors when needed.
