Job summary

Minnetonka Public School District is seeking a 1.0 FTE Social Studies Long Term Substitute Teacher for a 1/4/27–3/25/27 assignment. The ideal candidate holds Minnesota 5-12 or 7-12 Social Studies licensure and will implement district-approved curriculum with adaptive instruction.

Responsibilities include lesson planning, class management, assessing student progress, and maintaining communications with families via Schoology and email.

Qualifications

• Develops lesson plans and adapts to individual needs.
• Translates plans into developmentally appropriate experiences.
• Maintains standards of pupil behavior for effective learning.
• Evaluates students' progress and prepares reports.
• Identifies pupil needs and refers for IEP planning.
• Communicates with parents via Schoology, newsletters, calls, or emails.
• Collaborates with colleagues and supervisors.
• Pursues ongoing professional development.
• Participates in a professional learning community.
• Integrates technology into instruction.
• Performs other related duties.

Responsibilities

• Collaborative work in a fast-paced environment with students, staff, administrators, and parents.
• Support and communicate with other administrators and staff.
• Respond to emergencies and follow district policies.
• May plan and coordinate paraprofessionals and volunteers in classroom/projects.
• Contribute input to goal setting for paraprofessionals.
