Job summary

Adept is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to evaluate and treat residents with speech, swallowing, and cognitive disabilities in compliance with state and federal guidelines. Under physician direction, the SLP will evaluate patients, initiate referrals, conduct rehabilitation, administer tests, document progress, and educate residents and families.

Qualifications

• Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• Current license in Speech Therapy as required by state law.
• Certification in clinical competency.
• One-year clinical experience preferred.
• Experience with cognitive and dysphagia rehabilitation within a skilled nursing facility preferred.
• Knowledge in short-term and long-term SLP care.

Responsibilities

• Under physician direction, provide quality SLP services, including evaluating patients, screening, referrals, data collection, and following the plan of care.
• Plan, direct, or conduct rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency.
• Administer, score, and interpret specialized hearing and speech tests.
• Instruct residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and practice new skills.
• Complete timely documentation including progress notes, screen reports, daily notes, and discharge summaries.
• Instruct patients, families and staff in goals, progress, and therapeutic techniques.
• Ensure compliance with protocols and regulations.

Education

Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology

State licensure in Speech Therapy

Clinical competency certification

1 year clinical experience preferred

Experience with cognitive and dysphagia rehabilitation in SNF

Knowledge of SLP care (short/long term)
