Job summary

Gill St. Bernard's School in Gladstone, NJ seeks a Writer and Content Specialist to tell the vibrant stories of students, families, faculty and alumni and share the school’s mission with internal and external audiences.

Reporting to the Director of Strategic Communications and Marketing, you will produce feature profiles and short-form copy for digital platforms and print, collaborating with teachers, students, and alumni.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years writing and editing experience.
• Experience in independent school, higher education, or non‑profit preferred.
• Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading with high accuracy.
• Ability to adapt tone for different audiences.
• Proficient in AP Style.
• Portfolio of high-quality feature stories and short-copy.
• Collaborative team player open to feedback.

Responsibilities

• Pitch, write, and edit feature stories for digital and print.
• Source stories through interviews with faculty, students, and alumni.
• Produce long-form profiles and short-form news briefs.
• Copyedit major publications and maintain style guide.
• Manage multiple writing assignments with deadlines.
