Job summary

Holly Area Schools is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide comprehensive speech and language services to support student achievement and communication development. The position entails conducting evaluations, developing IEP-aligned intervention, collaborating with teachers and families, and delivering therapy in individual, small-group, and classroom settings.

Strong documentation and MTSS involvement are required.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid Michigan Speech-Language Pathologist license issued by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA).
  • Meet all applicable Michigan Department of Education (MDE) and federal requirements to provide speech & language services in a public school setting.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations using formal and informal assessment tools.
  • Interpret evaluation results and determine eligibility in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized speech and language intervention plans aligned with each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).
  • Provide evidence-based speech and language therapy services in individual, small-group, and classroom settings.
  • Monitor student progress, collect and analyze data, and adjust services based on student performance and needs.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation, including evaluations, IEPs, progress reports, service logs, Medicaid billing, and other required records.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, administrators, and related service providers to support student success.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, strategies, and recommendations to support skill development across environments.
  • Participate in and, when appropriate, facilitate Individualized Education Program Team (IEPT) meetings.
  • Consult with staff regarding communication strategies, accommodations, and classroom supports.
  • Support and implement a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework to promote early intervention and improved student outcomes.
  • Advocate for equitable access to educational opportunities for all students.
  • Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal special education requirements, professional standards, and ethical practices.
  • Participate in professional learning and continuous improvement activities.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills while managing multiple priorities.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of professional ethics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
