Job summary

Old Colony YMCA is seeking a Group Leader to supervise school-age programming in Stoughton, MA. You’ll help implement curriculum, ensure safety and compliance with EEC and YMCA policies, and serve as a positive role model for children and families.

Requirements include 18+ years old, a HS diploma or equivalent, CPR/First Aid, and ability to lift 75 lbs. This is a part-time on-site role with regular site meetings and community involvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 years of age, and have 6 months school age experience.
• Have a High School diploma or equivalent.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.
• Evidence of physical examination within last 12 months.
• Negative Mantoux TB test and immunity for measles, mumps, and rubella.
• Ability to create and sustain a culture of excellence and work and thrive as part of a cohesive team.
• Ability to lift/move heavy equipment and clean when necessary.
• Will sometimes work early morning, late nights and weekends.
• Strong oral communication skills required for occasional public speaking responsibilities.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift up to 75lbs on occasion and 40lbs frequently (children) and move intermittently during work hours.
• Ability to thoroughly understand Y-USA's three focus areas: Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility; proven ability to identify and meet the needs of the health seeker

Responsibilities

• Understand and ensure EEC regulations as well as Old Colony Y policies are maintained at all times.
• Assist with planning, developing, and implementing the program curriculum in accordance with EEC regulations and Old Colony YMCA’S policies.
• Assist with daily activities, including but not limited to; Y Chat, Asset Curriculum, BOKS, Fun/Food Curriculum.
• Maintain proper behavior of children at all times with strict adherence to both the YMCA Child Guidance Policy, and the Child Care Policy.
• Assist with Fun/Food Curriculum, menu planning and guidelines meet HEPA standards
• Understands and maintains QRIS standards
• Act in a public relations capacity when communicating with parents, school personnel and potential clients.
