Job summary

Old Colony YMCA in Whitman, Massachusetts is seeking a Group Leader to energize children with engaging activities and be a positive role model. The role offers weekday hours 7AM- start of school and/or 2PM-6PM, on-site with a focus on safety and teamwork.

Applicants should be 18+, HS diploma, CPR/AED and First Aid; willingness to train; strong communication and ability to lift up to 75lbs. Join a mission-driven youth program and help create memorable experiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 years of age and have 6 months school age experience.
• Have a High School diploma or equivalent.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required- Willing to train.
• Evidence of physical examination within last 12 months.
• Negative Mantoux TB test and immunity for measles, mumps, and rubella.
• Ability to create and sustain a culture of excellence and work and thrive as part of a cohesive team.
• Ability to lift/move heavy equipment and clean when necessary.
• Will sometimes work early morning, late nights and weekends.
• Strong oral communication skills required for occasional public speaking responsibilities.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift up to 75lbs on occasion and 40lbs frequently (children) and move intermittently during work hours.
• Ability to thoroughly understand Y-USA's three focus areas: Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility; proven ability to identify and meet the needs of the health seeker

• BE THE ROLE MODEL! Encourage kindness, confidence, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.
• Make connections! Get to know your kids, celebrate their successes, and make every child feel seen and valued.
• Keep the adventure going! Think on your feet, get creative, and be ready to jump into the fun.
• Be part of an awesome team! Work together under a Site Coordinator to create an amazing experience for every child.
• Keep kids safe and supported while making sure everyone has a place to shine.
• Help set up, clean up and keep the site flowing smoothly.
