Job summary

The Manager, Research Project C at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine will serve as the operational lead for a Lilly Research study and the WORKS study. You will plan, launch, and manage study portfolios, budgets, staffing, timelines, and regulatory compliance while serving as the primary operational contact for the industry partner.

You will supervise research staff, develop grants, and build systems to run multiple studies efficiently.

Qualifications

• The role requires an advanced degree in a health or social science field and 5–7 years of related experience.
• Experience managing complex, multi-year research studies with budgets and timelines.
• Experience supervising research staff and preparing grant proposals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work with sponsors and investigators.
• Strong organization and prioritization across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational oversight of studies in the lab portfolio.
• Oversee day-to-day research operations, timelines, and resources; build dashboards and SOPs.
• Manage pre/post-award budgets and ensure sponsor/IRB compliance.
• Supervise, train, and mentor research staff; lead hiring and staffing plans.
• Lead grant planning, submissions, and launch of funded studies.
• Lead regulatory planning including IRB submissions and ongoing compliance.
• Support strategic planning, partnership development, and lab communications.
