Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin seeks an Associate Director of Research Operations to lead the College of Liberal Arts research administration. You will drive strategic initiatives, improve operations, and ensure compliance for pre- and post-award activities across departments and centers.

You will supervise staff, develop processes, and coordinate with the Office of Sponsored Projects and central units to advance externally funded research priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required and a CRA credential is preferred.
• Seven or more years of progressively responsible research administration experience.
• Experience supervising professional and administrative staff.
• Experience coordinating across multiple stakeholder groups and university units.
• Knowledge of federal regulations, sponsor requirements, and university policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for research administration activities across the College of Liberal Arts.
• Develop strategies to improve research support services and operational efficiency.
• Oversee pre-award and post-award sponsored projects activities, including proposal development and award administration.
• Lead compliance, risk mitigation, and audit readiness efforts.
• Collaborate with college and central university offices to standardize procedures.
