Job summary

Pearson’s Connections Academy is seeking a Part-time Counselor to deliver social/emotional counseling to K-12 students remotely. The role supports students, families, and staff to address academic and emotional wellbeing, with duties spanning counseling, assessments, crisis response, and advocacy for student needs.

Responsibilities include collaboration with teachers and program staff, developing intervention plans, maintaining records, and providing workshops on mental health topics.

Qualifications

• Licensed clinical social worker or school counselor licensure (LCSW/LMSW/LICSW/LPC or DOE).
• 2+ years’ experience in K-12 school setting.
• Strong technology skills including online platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality counseling services to assigned students remotely.
• Plan and implement therapy in a virtual environment.
• Maintain records and progress reports with accuracy and timeliness.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators and families to support student success.
• Ensure compliance with school/state policies and IEP goals.
