Job summary

Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains is seeking an Employment Specialist to help refugees obtain employment through initial assessment, employment planning, and coaching. You will expand employer partnerships to ensure diverse job opportunities and provide pre-employment training and support throughout the search process.

You will also coordinate referrals, manage client records, and follow up post-placement to promote retention and success in new roles.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 2 years of college preferred; Candidates with a high school diploma and two years of transferable work/volunteer experience may be considered.
• Great emphasis on communication across diverse communities and adherence to standards of practice.
• Knowledge of community resources and ability to connect clients to services.

Responsibilities

• Complete employment orientation and employment plan in collaboration with refugee clients, empowering them to set and achieve goals.
• Provide pre-employment skills training and job readiness coaching, including resume creation and interview practice.
• Provide referrals and coordination to ensure client has supports in place (childcare, transportation, work clothing).
• Assess client skills for jobs based on employer needs and complete job applications; transport clients to job sites and hiring fairs.
• Maintain client records, including case notes and ESL attendance to show progress toward goals.
• Conduct ongoing post-placement follow up with employers to ensure successful outcomes and satisfaction.
