Job summary

Republic Services in Salem, Oregon, is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate forklifts, excavators, bulldozers and loaders at recycling centers, landfills or transfer stations.

You will perform pre- and post-operation inspections, monitor waste, complete Equipment Condition Reports, report repairs, and maintain a clean, safe work area.

Two years’ related experience and OSHA-site work preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of heavy equipment operation experience.
• Experience working on sites regulated by OSHA.
• Strong customer service skills and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment per policy.
• Safely operate equipment (forklift, excavator, bulldozer, loader, etc.).
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and ensure safety.
• Maintain operational readiness of equipment; perform minor services.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report repairs as needed.
• Follow all safety policies and keep shop clean and organized after shift.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
