Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited college or university.
• Five years of public library experience with at least three years in a supervisory capacity.
• Budget development and administration experience.
• Commitment to professional development and staff training.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies and library trends; strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Joliet Public Library.
• Develop and implement short- and long-term plans with the Board of Trustees.
• Oversee operations, collections, programs, services, and budget oversight.
• Foster a positive workplace culture and staff development.
• Strengthen community partnerships and outreach.
• Support fundraising and development efforts.
• Ensure library remains responsive to community needs.
