Job summary

Frederick County Public Schools is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Instructional Assistant at Glade Elementary School. Under the supervision of teachers, you will support students individually or in small groups and assist with instructional and clerical tasks.

The position is non-exempt, follows a 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM work day, and starts ASAP. Pay is $17.13 per hour with eligibility for standard benefits where offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 48 college credits/AA or ParaPro test may be required for Title One Schools.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in English language, spelling, vocabulary, and mathematics.
• Willingness to participate in required trainings and professional development.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodations.
• Regular and predictable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Works with individuals and small groups under supervision of a teacher or administrator.
• Checks papers and monitors student progress.
• Operates office machines and assists with typing as needed.
• Prepares materials for daily instruction.
• Assists with supervising activities and field trips.
• Performs classroom duties such as attendance and scheduling conferences.
• Uses computer programs to assist students in instructional settings.
• Substitutes for teachers in emergencies.

Education
