You will read drawings and specifications, perform quantity take-offs for pipe and appurtenances, and calculate labor and equipment costs for self-performed work. The role requires 3–4 years in underground mechanical estimating, experience with municipal utility bids is a plus, strong communication and organization, and proficiency with MS Office and take-off

Qualifications

• 3-4 years of underground mechanical estimating or similar field experience.
• Previous experience with hard bid Municipal utility projects is a plus.
• Ability to understand construction terminology.
• Strong communication, teamwork and organizational skills are required.
• Proficiency in MS Office and take-off software.

Responsibilities

• Read and review drawings, specifications and reports.
• Perform quantity take-off of Pipe & Appurtenances with counts and material types.
• Calculate labor and equipment costs for self performed work.
• Identify risks such as utility conflicts, dewatering, and excavation protections.
• Solicit Subcontractor/Supplier participation via phone/email.
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
• Estimate deficiencies and perform scope analysis as needed.
• Attend Pre-Bid Meetings and write RFIs with clarifications.
