Job summary

Gulfstream Strategic Placements, LLC seeks a Preconstruction Manager / Chief Estimator in Tampa, FL to lead estimating efforts for large mechanical systems. This permanent, full-time role requires senior-level expertise in HVAC, plumbing and related trades.

You will collaborate with owners, GCs, subs and vendors, sign off on final estimates, and present to senior leadership for upcoming projects. Extensive Florida project experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of estimating experience on large commercial/industrial projects.
• Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
• Comfortable meeting with owners and general contractors and presenting for upcoming projects.
• Experience with Design-Build, Negotiated and Plan-Spec contracts.

Responsibilities

• Build accurate estimates for medium to large mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing).
• Strengthen relationships with owners, general contractors, subs, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Build accurate estimates for medium to large mechanical (hvac-wet and dry as well as plumbing systems)
• Strengthen relationship with owners, general contractors, subs, and vendors
• Sign-off/approve final estimates prior to submittals
• Meet with Senior Management Team

Requirements

• Large and medium commercial and industrial project experience (10 million+)
• 10+ years of Estimating experience
• Advanced knowledge of OST Estimating software and able to read, redline and interpret 3D Models and CAD drawings
• Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management
• Comfortable meeting with owners and general contractors and presenting for upcoming projects
• Experience working on Design-Build, Negotiated, and Plan-Spec projects

• Prior field knowledge
• Advanced Florida Plumbing, Piping, Sheet Metal and other mechanical systems and code knowledge
