Job summary

Sweeney Merrigan Law is seeking a tenacious Case Manager for its Pre-Litigation Team in Boston. You will manage a caseload from file opening through the pre-litigation stage, coordinating with clients, attorneys, medical providers, and insurers to ensure organized records and timely progress.

The role emphasizes strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication to prepare cases for settlement or litigation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in personal injury case management, legal support, or related roles.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple active cases.
• Strong attention to detail with precise record-keeping across providers and billing sources.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with clients, attorneys, and third parties.
• Proficiency with case management software and standard office technology.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of personal injury matters from initial file setup through pre-litigation.
• Communicate regularly with clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, and other parties.
• Open insurance claims, draft letters of representation, and assist with legal correspondence.
• Gather and review medical records and billing documentation, confirm balances.
• Coordinate PIP and MedPay claims, including setup, billing, and exhaustion notices.
• Maintain detailed case notes in the firm’s case management system.
• Monitor milestones, deadlines, and treatment updates across matters.
• Assist with preparing demand packages and supporting documentation.
